As of September 19,2024, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on September 23, 2024. The Scope of Work includes the construction of approximately 3,913 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter PVC water main including 132 lineal feet of bore under Tanyard Branch, approximately 3,790 lineal feet of open trench installation of 8-inch PVC water main in City streets, associated fire hydrants, valves, fittings, hardware and other incidental items and work described in the Project Manual, or reasonably inferable therefrom. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or bank draft on a responsible solvent Missouri bank, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable Surety company, naming the Owner as Obligee, in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the Base bid plus the greatest of the Alternate bids ("Bid Security"). The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum as security for the faithful performance of the Contract, and also a Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum as security for the payment of all persons performing labor on the project under this Contract and furnishing materials in connection with this Contract. The Surety shall be a company licensed to do business in the State of Missouri and shall be acceptable to the Owner. The City of De Soto anticipates issuing notice to proceed in October 2024. The City of De Soto hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
