The scope of work for the project consists of constructing approximately 2,300 feet of two-lane undivided roadway along W. College Street from Mill Street to Cowan Avenue. The project includes complete street items such as landscape bump outs with landscaping through the roadway construction area. The project includes bike chevrons from Mill Street to IH 35 frontage road. This project also includes rehabilitating approximately 2,700 linear feet of various sizes of water lines (with appurtenances and associated services to existing properties), approximately 2,600 linear feet of various sizes of sanitary sewer lines (and associated services to existing properties), and installation of storm sewer drainage pipes, and associated structures. In addition to the above, construct back-in parking on the west side of S. Mill Street from Whatley Avenue southward across the Old Town Pocket Park and other miscellaneous items of construction as defined in the plans and specifications. Bidders are required to submit a cashier's or certified check issued by a bank satisfactory to the City of Lewisville, or a Bid Bond (with proper Power of Attorney) from a surety licensed to do business in the State of Texas, payable without recourse to the City of Lewisville, in an amount not less than five (5%) percent of the total amount of the base bid submitted to insure that the successful bidder will enter into a contract and execute all necessary bonds within fifteen (15) days after notice of award of the contract to him. This bid security must be uploaded to Bonfire or included in the bid envelope along with the bid sheet for the bidder to be considered responsive. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the following bonds from a surety licensed to do business in the State of Texas. These bonds, along with proper insurance papers, will be incorporated as part of the final contract documents and will remain in effect until the completion and acceptance of the project. Maintenance bonds shall be in effect based on their stated term after final acceptance of the project:A bid bond equal to 5% of the project amount is to be included with the sealed bid; a payment bond and performance bond at the project amount and a maintenance bond for two years from the date of the final acceptance. All bidders are notified that the qualification statement provided in the bid documents must be completed and submitted with the bid proposal. Failure to include this completed form with your bid may cause your bid to be disqualified as non-responsive. The City is not responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of the bid from any vendor. Also, should a vendor bid an alternate; any test costs to prove equality of product will be at the expense of the vendor, not the City of Lewisville. Each bidder is expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform himself regarding all local conditions. Ignorance of existing conditions of the site will not be a basis for any changes after the award of the bid. Bids cannot be altered or amended after the submission deadline. Any interlineation, alteration, or erasure made before opening time must be initialed by the signee of the bid, guaranteeing authenticity.
