The project generally consists of the following: This Contract provides for the construction of approximately 3,800 LF of PVC reclaimed water main, installation of approximately 600 LF of PVC potable water main, extension of approximately 300 LF of sewer service line extensions and mains, associated appurtenances to loop the water systems and extended sewer mains outside of the proposed road profile. The work also consists of grading an unimproved roadway section between Ketchum and Craig road to finished roadway subgrade in preparation for paving. Eighty (80) working days will be allowed to complete the work. It is anticipated that this project will be funded in part by the Washington State Department of Ecology. Neither the State of Washington nor any of its departments or employees are, or shall be, a party to any contract or any subcontractor resulting from this solicitation for bids. Award of the construction contract is contingent upon approval by the funding agency. Each proposal must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by cash, a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, payable to the City of Airway Heights, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond, each in the full amount of the contract price. The successful bidder will be required to conform to the wage requirements prescribed by the federal Davis-Bacon and Relate Acts which requires that all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors and subcontractors performing on contracts funded in whole or in part by SRF appropriations in excess of $2000 pay their laborers and mechanics not less than the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits, and determined by the Secretary of Labor, for corresponding classes of laborers and mechanics employed on similar projects in the area. All work performed will be subject to the higher of federal or state prevailing wage rates. The City shall have the right to reject any or all bids not accompanied by bid security or data required by the bidding documents or a bid in any way incomplete or irregular.
