**As of September 20, Project has been awarded. Award amount is $173,704.65** A public sewer extension is proposed on Meadow Lane to service 9 existing homes and 1 vacant lot. The project consists of one contract, General, which consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment for the open cut installation of approximately 550 LF of 8" SDR-35 gravity sewer pipe, 10 laterals, 2 new manholes, coring into 1 existing manhole, and asphalt and easement restoration. Full width wearing surface paving will be an alternate bid item. Resident access shall be maintained at all times. This project is financed in part by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority. Proposals shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the proposal. Proposals shall be effective for 90 days from the date of opening. The successful low bidder will be required to provide a 100% performance bond or certified check, a 100% payment bond or certified check, a worker's compensation affidavit, and a certificate of insurance naming Valley Forge Sewer Authority, East Pikeland Township, LTL Consultants, Ltd., and the Commonwealth Financing Authority as additional insureds, all within 20 days after the contract is awarded. A 15% maintenance bond extending for a period of 18 months after substantial completion is also required. Valley Forge Sewer Authority reserves the right to waive any non-material defects or irregularities in the bid, and to reject any or all bids or portions thereof. Valley Forge Sewer Authority, in accordance with Title VI of the U.S. Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Parts 21 and 23 of 49 C.F.R., notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that MBE/WBE will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and that no person will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex or national origin in consideration for an award.
