The project involves interior and exterior modifications at the Transportation/Public Services Facility. Interior modifications includes ,relocation of bus operator locker room, remodel Dispatch Suite to accommodate vestibule with transaction window/counter, additional Supervisor workstations, creation of a small supervisor conference room, restructure Operations Manager/Administration Assistant Offices, expand Mechanics locker room, create Storekeepers office, remodel Customer Service Lobby with new dedicated Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System, relocate Supply/Copier Room, restructure Transit Admin. Officers office, and relocate HR Payroll Technicias Office. The exterior modifications include new entry gate and fencing at the Civic Center entrance. LICENSES. Each Bidder shall possess a valid Class A or Class B Contractors license issued by the California State Contractors License Board at the time of the Bid submission, FTA overall anticipated level of DBE participation for federal fiscal year FY 2021/2022 through FY 2023/2024 is eight (8%) percent of federal financial assistance. It is therefore agreed that the successful Proposer will pay to the City the sum of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1500) for each working days delay in delivery, performance and/or acceptance of the approved work as set forth in the Agreement beyond any timeline or due date, or authorized extension. Estimated Bid Value $2,800,000.00 DESCRIPTION A. Where utilities cross the pipeline trench but do not conflict with the permanent work to be constructed, the Contractor shall follow the procedures given below and as indicated on the Plans and in the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall notify the utility Agency 48 hours in advance of the crossing construction and will coordinate the construction schedule with the utility service requirements. For utility crossings not shown on the Plans, follow the General Conditions and the instructions of the Agency's Representative. This Section describes the requirements for providing cast-in-place concrete, including formwork, reinforcement, concrete materials, mixture design, placement procedures, finishing, and testing. SCOPE OF WORK. The Project is estimated to cost approximately $2.8 Million and includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of Bids. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the Executive Director of Regional Transportation. This is a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funded project. The successful Proposer will be required to comply with all applicable Equal Opportunity Laws and Regulations. The City of Norwalk hereby notifies all prospective Contractors that the City will require each Contractor affirmatively demonstrate that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises are afforded full opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts and sub-contracts financed in part or in whole under this RFP and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, gender, age, or national origin in consideration for an award. Any interpretation or correction of the Contract Documents will be made only by a written Addendum by Monday, August 19, 2024.
