The Town of Blackstone is looking to replace the current playground structure at the Wrigglesworth Sports Complex located at 406 S. Harris Street, Blackstone, VA 23824. Playground equipment must accommodate individuals ages 2 to 12 and those withdisabilities. The Town of Blackstone seeks to establish an accessible playground that meets ADA Compliance and ASTM F1487,the standards for playground equipment for Public Use. The townhas allocated funding in FY24 for the design and purchase ofplayground equipment. The Town of Blackstone seeks bids fromqualified licensed contractors and engineers to design and purchase a playground with various elevations, maximize dedicatedplay area space for required safety zones, support sensory experiences and equipment that offers perceived risk, and provideactivity for approximately 15+ user capacity. Must be suitable forages 2 to 12. Design must consist of a minimum of swing sets,cozy play, a one-play system structure, and safety barriers Minority and/ or female-owned businesses and local businesses are encouraged to apply. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids received in response to this IFB. The Town of Blackstone is seeking to establish an accessible playground that meets 36 CFR Part 1191, the standards for accessibility by the U.S. Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board. 3. Work shall include the design of playground equipment and site amenities meeting specifications noted herein.
