Parkgate Library is located at 3675 Banff Court, North Vancouver. The building is operated by North Vancouver District Public Libraries (NVDPL) but is owned by the District. It is a two story 16,500 sq.ft. library with an additional mechanical penthouse. Various pieces of mechanical equipment have either exceeded their useful service life or are malfunctioning. As a result, the District is currently looking to perform a full-scale HVAC systems renewal, with the intention of utilizing the space as a Clean Air / Cooling Shelter complete with the necessary filtration to fulfil that aspect. In addition to this, there are architectural upgrades such as new carpets, fire alarm upgrades, interior painting and roof painting to the library. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the following: -A new circulation desk; -New librarian work area; -Minor architectural finishes upgrades (painting, floor finishes) to the two (2) storey library; -Mechanical AHU refurbishment in the penthouse; -Condensing unit replacement in the penthouse; -The mechanical replacement will necessitate structural support upgrades, concrete flooring and mechanical equipment pad upgrades and reconfiguration and selective demolition and re and re of existing -exterior finishes; -Electrical upgrades related to replacement of existing lighting fixtures, fire alarm components, outlets; -Refinishing the existing metal roof; -Replacing the existing mechanical room exterior screens with louvres; -Replacing the two automatic double sliding doors in the entry vestibule.
