MWRD Battery A Improvements & Batter B Installation of Mechanical Mixers Trades included but not limited to: Aeration Tank, Final Tank & Channel Cleaning, Shoring, Sheeting, Bracing, Lead Abatement, Demolition, Site Clearing, Tree Protection & Trimming, Earthwork, Excavation, Backfilling, Selective Structural Demolition, Micropiles, Erosion Control, Landscaping - Restoration & New Seeding, Concrete Formwork, Engineered Concrete Fill, Concrete Accessories & Reinforcement, Joints in Concrete, CIP, Concrete Curing & Restoration, Chemical & Epoxy Grout Injection, FRP Reinforcement, Structural Steel, Metal Fabrications, Guardrails, Steel Grating, Galvanizing, Fiberglass Heavy Duty Stop Logs, Protective Coatings, Sluice Gates, Submersible Mixers, Control System, Portable Cranes, HVAC, & Electrical. The associated goals are 20% Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBE), 10% Women-owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and 3% Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (VBE). Should you have any questions, please contact the Diversity Office at 312-751- 4035 The estimated cost of the work under Contract 08-174-3D, is between $51,775,000 and $62,675,000.00. The time required to complete this Contract is 925 calendar days SCOPE OF WORK A. The Contractor shall furnish the necessary labor, equipment, tools and materials to completely clean, remove and legally dispose of all remaining deposited materials from the following: 1. The East-West Sludge Return Channel of Battery A. 2. The East-West Mixed Liquor Channel of Battery A. 3. All Final Settling Tanks and the North-South Influent Channels as required for the Battery A concrete work. 4. The First Pass in all Aeration Tanks in Battery B. B. The Contractor shall remove all materials including concrete, cans etc. from the interior of the tanks & channels as well as sludge & all vegetations growing at the top of & around the final tanks and channel areas including in the expansion joints and concrete cracks. C. The Contractor shall manually remove and dispose of the materials during the cleaning. The Contractor shall not hose solids down the drains. D. The Aeration Tanks in Battery A are excluded from this Section. The Contractor may hose/move the solids to gain access to the work area and perform the air piping replacement.
