The City of Haines City is interested in selecting an experienced firm or contractor with demonstrated experience in the implementation of rain gardens to construct two (2) Rain Garden BMP retention ponds and two (2) Bio-swales. The retention ponds and Bio-swales will collect, retain, and percolate stormwater runoff that would otherwise flow directly into a waterbody. Bid Bond Greater than $100,000: 5%; Less than $100,000: 10% It is the intent of this Request for Proposal to seek the services of a firm for the construction and installation of rain gardens and Bio-swales for the City. 2. It is the intent and purpose of this solicitation to improve Haines City stormwater runoff. This project is engineered to filter 56.26 acres of stormwater drainage area before it reaches a waterbody. It shall be the proposer's responsibility to advise the Purchasing Coordinator at the address noted above, if any language, requirements, etc., or any combination thereof, inadvertently restricts or limits competition or if the requirements stated in this document limits it to a single source. Such notification must be submitted in writing and must be received by the Purchasing Coordinator no later than ten (10) calendar days prior to the proposal closing date. The following are a list of services proposing firms and the firm selected shall be capable of providing: Lake Tracy 1. Construction of an approximate 50,000 sq. ft. pond (Lake Tracy Site) to include 45' of concrete weir spillway. 2. Installation and maintenance of erosion control. 3. Drainage improvements along Vine Street including installation of curbing, concrete catch area and storm inlet with discharge pipe. 4. Install new guard rail along Main Street per FDOT standards and specifications. 5. Install landscaping and irrigation. Irrigation design is not provided. Contractor is to provide proposed plan for irrigation. Contractor to coordinate with City staff to review points of connection for irrigation. 6. Provide shop drawings for education signage to be installed at site. A draft concept will be provided for guidance. 7. Provide a construction project site sign with the City and Florida Department of Environmental Protection logos and project information including but not limited to project name and names/logos of various funding/involved parties. Example sign to be provided by the City prior to ordering. Construction of an approximate 5,000 sq. ft. pond (5th St. Site) including 25 LF of 12" RCP storm pipe. 2. Installation and maintenance of erosion control. 3. Drainage improvements along 5th Street, including installation of storm inlet with discharge pipe. 4. Removal and replacement of existing sidewalk for installation of storm pipe. 5. Install landscaping and irrigation. Irrigation design is not provided. Contractor is to provide proposed plan for irrigation. Contractor to coordinate with City staff to review points of connection for irrigation. 6. Provide shop drawings for education signage to be installed at site. A draft concept will be provided for guidance.
