The work is comprised of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, appurtenances, supervision, performing all operations, traffic control and all other necessary work including utility and transportation services required for the construction of the modifications to select signalized intersections for improved visibility and safety. The traffic signal systems shall be fully installed, configured, integrated, tested, and commissioned per the Project Construction Documents. The work includes, but is not limited to, removal of select poles and foundations, potholing, installation of pull boxes, poles and foundations, conduit, conductor cables, video detection cameras, advanced dilemma zone detection, protected left-turn phases, signing and striping, pedestrian countdown heads, and replacing curb ramps at the 9 project intersections listed: Intersection 1: Tahquitz Canyon Way and Calle Encilia Intersection 2: East Palm Canyon Drive and Araby Drive / Escoba Drive Intersection 3: Ramon Road and Avenida Caballeros Intersection 4: Ramon Road and Compadre Road Intersection 5: Farrell Drive and Via Escuela Intersection 6: Sunrise Way and Tachevah Drive Intersection 7: Farrell Drive and Alejo Road Intersection 8: Indian Canyon Drive and 20 th Avenue Intersection 9: Sunrise Way and Alejo Road The work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of 120 working days. There will be a notice to proceed to commence with potholing and to get poles ordered. Another Notice to Proceed will be issued in coordination with pole delivery. Question Deadline 07/17/2024 at 3:00 PM PT All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bid Documents are to be submitted in writing. Questions submitted after Time and date will not be accepted. Answers will be released online for everyone to review. The engineer's estimate is $2,000,000 to $2,500,000. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A Contractor's License for the State of California, at the time of submitting bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by an electronic copy to demonstrate proof of a certified or cashier's check or a Bid Bond in the amount of 10 percent (10%) of the total bid price, payable to the City of Palm Springs. The original will be collected from the apparent lowest responsive bidder and shall match the electronic copy. The Bidder shall guarantee the total bid price for a period of 120 calendar days from the date of bid opening. The City reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality (non-responsiveness) in a bid, or to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, and reject all other bids, as it may best serve the interest of the City. If there are multiple and/or alternative bid schedules, bidders are required to complete and submit a bid on all bid schedules. As a condition of award, the successful bidder will be required to submit payment and performance bonds and insurance. As a condition of award, the contractor and any subcontractor listed on the bid must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the California Labor Code. Bidders are advised that, as required by federal law, the City of Palm Springs is implementing Disadvantaged Business Enterprise requirements for this project. Bidders shall refer to the Special Provisions for the DBE requirements related to this contract. The DBE Contract goal is 21%. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
