Title: Renovate Building 154 Location of the Work: Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head, Maryland Description of the Work: Remove the exterior skin (walls and roof) while retaining the existing super structure, saw cutting the slab as needed and creating new foundations to support a new 2nd floor structure, saw cutting the slab as needed to accommodate utilities, reskinning the building with an insulated metal panel system to match the existing appearance, and fitting out the interior to support the lab/admin function programmed for the building. In addition, the design shall include the complete design of all utilities required by the renovation of the building. The new building program includes approximately 20,000 square feet (SF) of biological, chemical, radiological labs, storage, and loading dock areas on the ground floor, and approximately 16,000 SF of administrative and mechanical spaces on a newly constructed partial second story. Proposed second floor operations include leadership/admin offices, storage space, workstations, and meeting rooms. Estimated Budget: In accordance with DFARS 236.204 Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects, the estimated price range for this project is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. Time for Completion: In accordance with FAR 52.211-10 Commencement, Prosecution, and Completion of Work, the Government desires completion of construction within 654 calendar days after award (includes 15 calendar days for submission and approval of bonds and insurance). Liquidated Damages: In accordance with FAR 52.211-12 Liquidated Damages - Construction, Liquidated Damages will be assessed in the amount of $3,726 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted.
