This project consists of approximately 403,000 square yards of asphalt milling and repaving 1.75 inches, thus including an estimated 39,000 tons of asphalt along various routes within the City of Springfield. In pavement traffic signal vehicle detection wires will be damaged as a result of milling near some intersections, thus requiring the replacement of up to 2,800 linear feet of detection wiring Some locations involve asphalt rejuvenation near railroad crossings, which will require the contractor obtain the necessary agreements and insurance requirements to work within railroad right-of-way. A certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid shall be submitted with each proposal. Note all labor shall be paid Missouri Prevailing Wages and/or Federal Davis-Bacon Wages, whichever is higher. Bidders must be on MoDOTs Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, current version including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening The DBE Goal for this project is 3% The owner will award this project to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.
