NEW AUTOTECH FACILITYFOR SHADES VALLEY HIGHSCHOOL It is the responsibilityof the bidder to assure that bidsare presented at the time of thebid if they choose to mail thebid. Contractors must notify theAwarding Authority if a bid is tobe received by mail. A cashier's check or bid bondpayable to Jefferson County Board of Education in anamount not less than five (5)percent of the amount of theproposal, but in no event morethan $10,000.00, must accompany the bidder's proposal foreach project. Performance andPayment Bonds and evidenceof insurance as required in thebid documents will be requiredat the signing of the Contract. Prior to issuance of plans andspecifications, all Contractorsmust provide evidence that theyare properly licensed for theclassification of work for thisproject. Evidence shall be in theform of a copy of current licenseclearly indicating all classifications, or sub-classifications, bidlimits, license number, and expiration date. General Contractor Biddersmay obtain digital copies ofdrawings and specificationsfrom the Architect for each project upon receipt of Applicationfor Bid. General Contractorswill then be placed on OfficialBidders List. Hard copy sets ofdrawings/ specifications will beavailable to General Contractors for purchase directly fromthe document printer: AlabamaGraphics. Addenda and otherproposal information will be issued only to holders of drawings and specifications distributed by the Architect and on theOfficial Bidders List. Release ofcontract documents to the bidder does not imply acceptanceof the bidder's qualifications bythe Owner or Architect. Bids received from GeneralContractors who are not on theOfficial Bidders List may not beaccepted or opened. LathanAssociates Architects, P.C.makes no guarantee for plansand specifications obtained byContractors and Vendors fromsources other than the printedcontract documents provided bytheir firm. Contractors and Vendors who base their pricing fromcontract documents obtainedfrom other electronic sources,either in part or whole, do so attheir own risk. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof, issuedeither with the original contractdocuments or by addendum.General Contractors shall notuse Proposal Forms other thanthose provided in the contractdocuments. All bidders bidding in amountsexceeding that established bythe State Licensing Board forGeneral Contractors must belicensed under the provisions ofTitle 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975. The Bidder mustdisplay current General Contractor's License Number on theoutside of the sealed envelopein which the proposal is delivered, or it will not be consideredby the Architect or Owner. TheOwner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and towaive technical errors if, in theOwner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will therebybe promoted. All RFI's must be numbered and made in writing to the Architect's email rfi@lathanassociates.com . All work under this Contract shall be complete and ready for Owner occupancy within Three Hundred SixtyFive (366) consecutive calendar days from written Notice. To Proceed. The work under this contract shall commence within Ten (10) calendar days from date of Notice To Proceed.
