The park design includes a playground, post-tension concrete multipurpose court, outdoor workout equipment, labyrinth, grass open-play area, prefabricated pavilion/restroom structure, two parking areas, sidewalks, and landscaping. Park Information: The Billy Cordova Memorial Park will be a park that serves the entire Upper Arkansas River Valley. This park has special significance, due not only to the strategic location set to accommodate future growth and underserved populations, but also to honor first responders. The park design will have a special memorial and first responder theme, as the community has decided to name this park after fallen Chaffee County Fire Battalion Chief Billy Cordova. Park Location & Size: The park will be located at 142 Raven Way in Buena Vista, CO 81211. The park is roughly 33,000 square feet and is the size of 4 lots in the Sunset Vista IV subdivision. The park consists of lots 155, 156, 169, and 170 of the Sunset Vista IV subdivision, which were rezoned to Open Space & Recreation (OSR) and consolidated into one lot in February 2023. Scope of Work: 1 The contractor will schedule and lead all phases of construction for Billy Cordova Memorial Park. 2 The contractor will construct the park to the specifications provided in the engineered drawings and the project manual. 3 The contractor will serve as the contract administrator for the project and will manage subcontractors contracts and invoicing. 4 The contractor will conduct or subcontract services for all elements of park construction including, but not limited to: excavation and grading, concrete work, court striping/painting, irrigation and landscaping, fencing, utility work and connections for water, sewer, and electric, and installing a prefabricated restroom and pavilion. 5 The contractor will coordinate with Town to prepare for execution of the Community Build Days, including playground pit preparation and concrete. The contractor will also coordinate with Town for the installation of picnic tables, benches, trash cans, and bike racks that the Town will supply. 6 The contractor will not be responsible for: trail construction; memorial art features; labyrinth and small plantings; playground equipment supply, surface installation, and equipment assembly; and prefabricated restroom purchasing and delivery. 7 The contractor will ensure all necessary Town and County building permits have been secured by the Town of BV and secure additional permits if needed.
