The purpose of this work is to replace seven (7) existing fire hydrants with six auxiliary valves and install additional one (1) 6" and two (2) 8" main line gate valves at various streets within the City of Keene as shown on the construction drawings. The contractor shall be responsible for providing pipes, gate valves and appurtenances in accordance with the construction drawings and as specified herein or as ordered by the Engineer. The Engineers estimate for this project is #136,000.00. The successful bidder must furnish 100% Performance and Payment Bonds and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within 10 days following notification of the acceptance of his bid. 90 calendar days for substantial completion 120 calendar days for contract completion Owner reserves right to make changes in lines, grades, and depths of utilities when changes are required for Project conditions. 0Another one fire hydrant is to be replaced without an auxiliary valve, the existing valve to remain in place. o All fittings, such as anchor tees, straight couplings, and bends are to be installed as shown on the plan, unless the existing pipe layout is different from what is shown on the plan. o The contractor is not allowed to operate valves or curb stops. Water shutoffshall be coordinated with the Water Division. o The city doesn't permit customers to be out ofwater for two consecutive days. o The contractor is responsible for notifying and giving water shutoffnotices to customers. o The contractor is responsible for scheduling the workdays according to the construction plan.
