As of September 23, 2024, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is currently moving forward with a Project Development and Environmental Study (PD&E) to evaluate alternatives to address in-kind replacement of the DeSoto Bridge. The existing bridge provides 40 feet of vertical clearance over the river and has four lanes, with two in each direction. The new bridge will be similar in length and profile to the existing one. It will also include wider inside and outside shoulders and a barrier separating a new shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists from vehicular traffic. Manatee County has a subaqueous 16" water main which is east of and runs parallel to the existing bridge and will need to be relocated due to age. Question Deadline; 01/17/2024. clarification or additional information pertaining to this RFQ shall be made in writing via email to the Manatee County Procurement Division to the Designated Procurement Contact or to purchasing@mymanatee.org. All questions received and responses given will be provided to potential Proposers via an addendum to this RFQ A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the total offer. Bid bond shall be submitted with the sealed response and shall include project name, location, and / or address and project number. In lieu of the bond, the bidder may file an alternative form of security in the amount of 5% of the total offer. in the form of a money order, a certified check, a cashier's check, or an irrevocable letter of credit issued to Manatee County. A Payment and Performance Bond shall be submitted by Successful Bidder for 100% of the award amount and shall be presented to Manatee County within ten (10) calendar days of issuance of the notice of intent to award. NOTE: A construction project over $200,000 requires a Payment and Performance Bond. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Proposals, to waive irregularities and technicalities, to request additional information and documentation, and to cancel this solicitation at any time prior to execution of the contract
