Construction of the CITY PARKING LOT REHABILITATION including all materials, labor and equipment necessary for the installation of approximately: 303 CY Excavation 116.3 LF Storm Sewer Pipe 2 Storm Sewer Intakes 1420 SY of 8 Inch PCC Pavement 91.3 SY of Pavement Removal The work shall be performed at Johnston Public Works, 6400 NW Beaver Dr. Johnston, IA 50131 The bidder's security shall be in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid plus alternate and shall be in the form of a cashier's check or a certified checkIf the bidder fails to execute the contract and to furnish an acceptable performance, payment, and maintenance bond or provide a Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days after acceptance of the bid by the City, the bid security may be forfeited or cashed by the City as liquidated damages. Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of a written notice to proceed. The notice to proceed is anticipated to be issued in May. Work on the project shall be finally completed as follows: October 31, 2024. Liquidated damages in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) per day will be assessed for each day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all technicalities and/or all irregularities.
