Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, travel, and incidentals necessary to install one (1) new metal framed dark bronze door and LCN 9542 automatic door opener or equivalent to the Caltrans District 01 Office Addition Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) exterior door located in Eureka, CA. Questions regarding this IFB must be submitted in writing by January 3, 2024 5:00 p.m. Bidders are encouraged to submit their written questions via e-mail to jennifer.ramos@dot.ca.gov. Proposed Award Date (estimate) January 25, 2024 Payment Bond (ADM-2009) Requirement: If the successful bidder's bid is $25,000 or more, the successful bidder shall furnish a Payment Bond for not less than 100 percent (100%) of the total amount payable by the terms of this Agreement. The Payment Bond is due prior to the start date of work. No work may commence without receipt of a valid Payment Bond. The Payment Bond must be in effect at all times for the duration of the Agreement. If the Payment Bond expires during the term of the Agreement, a new Payment Bond must be provided to Caltrans Contact Manager not less than 10 business days prior to its expiration. Failure to maintain a Payment Bond for the full term of this Agreement will be grounds for termination for default in addition to other legal remedies Caltrans may have. Inadequate or lack of a Payment Bond does not negate Contractor's obligations under this Agreement. Caltrans reserves the right to reject all bids for reasonable cause. Start date February 1, 2024 (estimate) Through End date January 31, 2025 (estimate) As required by Executive Order S-02-06, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is committed to meeting the State's twenty-five percent (25%) Small Business (SB) participation goal. Certified SBs, Micro Businesses (MB), SBs for the purpose of Public Works (SB-PW) and Contractors willing to commit to subcontracting a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) of their net bid price to certified SBs, or MBs (if applicable) are encouraged to submit bids.
