A. Complete replacement of 300 foot of sewer line from a manhole in highway 40 (205 David Bruce Avenue, Charlotte Court House, VA 23923) on David Bruce Avenue to a manhole located at the back corner of the library (112 Le Grande Avenue, Charlotte Court House, VA 23923). B. The new piping must be 8" SDR35 sewer pipe and have the correct level of fall from manhole to manhole so that the sewage flows in the direction towards the library manhole. C. The Contractor shall install a double sweep cleanout halfway through the line at 150 feet. D. There is an attached map of the route in which the sewer line must run on the outskirts of the cobblestone parking lot down to the library manhole. E. The necessary path of the new piping will require the removal of a few small trees. All the old piping, which runs under the parking lot, will be abandoned in place. F. All materials, equipment, and work procedures must comply with the specifications of this IFB and all local, state, and federal regulations. G. The Contractor is responsible for initiating, maintaining, supervising all safety precautions in connection with the work in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. H. The Contractor shall be responsible for all cleanup within the work area and cleanup of all work materials. I. The Contractor shall utilize VDOT approved traffic control when working in highway 40 to tap into the existing manhole. VDOT's curb, gutter and asphalt must be replaced to VDOT's standard and approval. The town sidewalk must be restored to equivalent or better conditions as existed prior to the sewer line replacement. Once the project is completed, all grounds must be level with seed and straw to prevent erosion. J. Both existing manholes are brick laid manholes and in the case of a collapse or if it is deemed necessary to replace, attach a quote for the replacement of these manholes as well Questions and Clarification of Terms: Questions regarding this solicitation should be directed in writing to Heather T. Brown, Purchasing Agent, by 2:00 pm on January 22, 2024. Any revisions to the solicitation will be made by addendum issued by the Purchasing Agent. All addenda will be posted at the County Administration Office and on-line It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that all addenda have been obtained and reviewed.
