The San Joaquin County Department of Public Works (SJCDPW) requests technical proposals from qualified consulting firms to undertake, perform, and complete the tasks set forth in Request for Proposals - SJCDPW-RFP-23-06. The selected consulting firm (CONSULTANT) will perform professional and technical engineering services for the Harrison Elementary Active Transportation Project (PROJECT). CONSULTANT will design and engineer improvements to the Harrison Elementary neighborhood roadways, including Sanguinetti Ln, Wilson Way, Alpine Ave, E St, and Mistletoe Ave in San Joaquin County. The purpose of the project is to enhance and promote active transportation (biking and walking) in the area. The project includes: Sidewalk additions along Alpine Ave, Mistletoe Ave, E St, and Wilson Way Reconfigured striping to add buffered bike lanes and parking on Alpine Ave Added/updated pedestrian crosswalks throughout project limits A lighted traffic signal installation at the intersection of Wilson Way & E Street The residential area surrounding Harrison Elementary School is a disadvantaged community, with access to the school via Alpine Ave, Mistletoe Ave, and Sanguinetti Lane, within the project limits. Local businesses along Wilson Way are accessed by the community on local roads with no sidewalks. The installation of bike lanes, sidewalks, and pedestrian crosswalks will aide multi-modal transportation within the area. CONSULTANT will be requested to enter into a Consultant Services Agreement with San Joaquin County (County). All work shall comply with San Joaquin County Policies. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
