The Project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant Work necessary to satisfactorily complete the Project, as more specifically described in the Contract Documents. This Work will be performed in strict conformance with the Contract Documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction, and applicable regulations. The quantity of Work to be performed and materials to be furnished are approximations only, being given as a basis for the comparison of BIDS. Actual quantities of Work to be performed may vary at the discretion of the City Engineer. Estimated Bid Value $160,000 The Polliwog Park Fitness Station Replacement Project (D-951) is a Public Works construction project including, but not limited to, demolition of the existing fitness equipment, foundations and appurtenances, construction of new concrete slab mat foundation, installation of new National Fitness Campaign (NFC) fitness tile court and equipment, replacement of adjacent concrete sidewalk and perimeter grass turf including all incidental work described in the Contract documents. Contractor shall note that the park grounds are owned by the Manhattan Beach Unified School District (MBUSD). Q&A Deadline: 1/23/2024, 5:00 PM Contractor is hereby directed to Part 9 - Special Instructions of the Contract specifications for project specific coordination and construction phasing related items. All areas of the park are to remain open and accessible to pedestrian traffic during construction. The City does not have any readily available staging area; it is therefore the Contractor's responsibility to procure a staging area at their expense. Inventory, Pickup and Delivery of Equipment: Contractor shall pickup and deliver the City furnished fitness equipment ready for installation. The equipment is stored at the City's maintenance yard located at: 3621 Bell Ave, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Contractor shall inventory stored equipment against the overall parts and installation kit parts list (provided by the City). Contractor shall make preparations for secure handling, transfer and hauling of oversized pallets, crates, boxes and individual pieces of equipment (taking appropriate precautions to not damage fitness equipment and parts during delivery to project site). Fitness equipment delivery shall be coordinated with completion of the concrete slab work ready for installation. Full compensation for compliance with all requirements on this section shall be considered as included in the appropriate bid items, except as otherwise noted. The bidder is solely responsible for on time submission of their electronic bid. The City will only consider bids that have been transmitted successfully and have been issued an ebid confirmation number with a time stamp from the Bid Management System indicating that the bid was submitted successfully. Transmission of bids by any other means will not be accepted. Bidder shall be solely responsible for informing itself with respect to the proper utilization of the bid management system, for ensuring the capability of their computer system to upload the required documents, and for the stability of their internet service. Failure of the bidder to successfully submit an electronic bid shall be at the bidder's sole risk and no relief will be given for late and/or improperly submitted bids.
