Sealed bids will be received by the Madison County Board of Supervisors for supplying labor, materials and equipment as required to perform all related items of work covered under the plans and specifications for the Yandell Road Bridge Replacement Project, consisting of the removal and construction of two bridges on Yandell Road. Bid documents info : Plans, specifications, and contract documents are on file and open to public inspection at Madison County Chancery Clerk's Office, Rooms 225-228, 146 West North Street, Canton, MS 39046, and at Madison County Road Department, 3137 South Liberty Street, Canton, MS, 39046. Plans, specifications, and contract documents may also be secured at no charge by either of the following methods: 1. Download a copy from Madison County's website. 2. Email a request to kesha.jackson@madison-co.com. Each bidder must deposit with its proposal a bid bond or certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid for the work, payable to Madison County Board of Supervisors, as bid security. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount awarded. Attorneys-in-fact who sign Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds, and/or Performance Bonds must file with each bond a certified and effective dated copy of their power of attorney. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi State law and possess a Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors establishing its classification as to the value and type of construction on which it is authorized to bid. The contract time for the work included in this contract is 70 calendar days. The contract will be subject to liquidated damages in the amount of $2,000 per calendar day for each day in default after the agreed upon completion date. All bids so received will be publicly opened and read aloud. Written requests for interpretation of the Plans and Specifications shall be submitted to the Engineer not less than ten (10) calendar days prior to the bid opening for a formal decision, which will be given in writing to all known prospective bidders.
