Estimated Bid Value $6,500,000 The work to be done consists of rehabilitating the roadway by removing and reconstructing asphalt concrete, sidewalks, driveway approaches, curb & gutters, preservation of survey monuments, installation of striping, pavement markings, and repainting curbs as well as the adjustments and replacement of Public Utilities (Water Valve Boxes, Sewer Manholes, Etc.), and all appurtenant work as shown on the plans and delineated in the specifications entitled "Residential Street Improvement Project Peary - Group 16." This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a Public Works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a Public Works project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. "News Release No.: 2022-12. The Department of Industrial Relations' Labor Enforcement Task Force (LETF) is leading a new initiative to inspect publicly funded construction sites to ensure employers provide workers' compensation insurance and follow labor laws, including applicable prevailing wage laws, skilled and trained workforce requirements, workplace health and safety requirements, and apprenticeship standards. The enforcement effort includes teams from DIR's Divisions of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA), and Labor Standards Enforcement (Labor Commissioner's Office) in collaboration with other enforcement partners. All workers employed on qualifying public works projects must be paid the prevailing wage determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, according to the type of work performed and location of the project." The person submitting the request shall be responsible for its prompt delivery. Any interpretation of the proposed documents shall be made by addendum only, duly issued by the City, and a copy of each such addendum shall be made available, via download from the City's ELECTRONIC BIDDING software to each potential bidder who has registered on-line to receive project updates. The city will not be responsible for any other explanation or interpretation of the proposed documents, nor will the city be responsible for the completeness of project documents obtained from other sources. After the contract has been awarded, contractor agrees in advance that any ambiguities not submitted to the Engineer pursuant to the above, shall be construed against the Contractor and in favor of the City.
