The estimated value is roughly $100,000-$200,000. Every General Bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount, in the form of a certified check; or a treasurer's check; or a cashier's check; issued by a responsible bank or trust company, made payable to the Town of Southbridge; or a bid bond in a form satisfactory to the Town of Southbridge, with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreements contained in the general bid. The successful General Bidder will be required to provide a performance bond, and a labor and materials payment bond, issued by a company authorized to do business in Massachusetts and satisfactory to the Awarding Authority, each bond being in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Amount. The Town of Southbridge reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Southbridge The bidder agrees that its bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 45 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids.
