Notice is hereby given that the City of Rock Springs, Wyoming, does hereby call for bids for a general contract to consist of: Locker Replacement in Family Rec Center 1. Demolition and removal of 197 existing lockers to the local landfill or a construction dumpster provided by the bidder. 2. Assessment and minor repair of any bases or walls which the new lockers will attach to. 3. Installation of Lenox Solid Plastic Lockers including: 1 each - 12" x 18" x 72" Double Tier Locker 60 each -15" x 18" x 72" Four Tier Lockers (240 openings) 19 each - 15" x 12" x 72" Four Tier Lockers (76 openings) 117 each - 15" x 12" x 72" Double Tier Lockers (234 openings) Notes: Color of lockers will be chosen by City Representative at the time of Notice to Proceed. Lockers must have finished ends, slope tops and filler where needed. Hasps must be a part of the locker itself but padlocks will be provided by others. Following a Notice to Proceed, the work to be done under this Contract to procure Lockers and other needed materials shall begin, but onsite Demolition & Installation SHALL NOT BEGIN BEFORE May 1, 2024 and shall be fully completed no later than July 31, 2024. Work must be done during regular business hours at the Family Rec Center on weekdays only and contractor will be required to work effectively day to day during consecutive weeks once the demolition and installation process begins. Completing the project in a reasonable time window so as not to close either locker room any longer than necessary is required. A certified check or bid bond in the sum of five percent (5%) of the amount of any bid must be filed with said bid to be forfeited to the City of Rock Springs as liquidated damages if the bidder is awarded the contract and fails to enter into a contract with the City of Rock Springs within ten (10) days after notification of award. In an amount not less than fifty percent (50%) of the contract price unless the price exceeds one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00), in which case the appropriate officer, agent or the governing body may fix a sufficient amount In accordance with Section 16-6-105, Wyoming Statutes, 1977 Rep. Ed., the contract shall be let to the most responsible resident bidder making the lowest bid if such resident's bid is not more than five percent (5%) higher than that of the lowest most responsible non-resident bidder. The City Council shall have the power to reject any and all bids or waive any informality in same. No bidder will be allowed to withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days or until the successful bidder has entered into a contract with the City of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Max Mickelson, Mayor The City of Rock Springs reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to reject any and all bids that do not meet the qualification criteria regarding this contract, or to accept that bid which in its sole and absolute judgment will, under all circumstances, best serve the public interest. In the event that the successful bidder fails to execute the Contract Agreement and/or fails to furnish the Contract Bond, the City of Rock Springs, after declaring forfeited the Bid Security of such bidder, reserves the option to accept the bid of any other bidder within ten (10) days from such default, in which case such acceptance shall have the same effect as to such bidder as though he were the original successful bidder. No bidder will be allowed to withdraw his bid within a period of forty days THE Contractor shall pay to the Owner as liquidated damages an amount of $250.00 per working day for failure to complete the project in the stipulated time. The Contractor shall commence work on or before the date specified in the Notice of Award and shall have all work completed and ready for final inspection by July 31, 2024, unless otherwise extended by the City Representative/Engineer.
