Project Overview: The objective of this project is the removal, purchase and installation of doors and hardware and rewiring of the door alarm bars to the correct working conditions for the total of (3) sets of doors located in the High Intensity Psychiatric Unit (HIPU). This project is located at Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System, Tuskegee (2400 Hospital Road, Tuskegee, AL 36083). Scope of New Work: The Contractor shall furnish all management, supervision, labor, assemblies, transportation, and supplies needed to complete the work for the above & attached quote of replacing the doors. All work will be done according to VA specifications, Design Guides, Infection Control guidelines and all applicable codes. The work will be structured to require minimum interruption of space function during construction or installation. All work shall meet the most current edition of NFPA/Life Safety Code and comply with all applicable building codes. Contractor shall warrant that the equipment and/or installation shall be free of defects in materials and workmanship arising from normal usage for a period of one year. Contractor is required to provide all submittals for approval before work can begin. Work shall be in accordance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Contractor shall field verify each condition prior to bid. Contractor is responsible for the removal of all debris from the worksite. Period of Performance: The required period of performance will be 120 calendar days from the date of contract award or notice to proceed. Location of Work: Building 3A at Central Alabama Veteran Health Care System, Tuskegee (2400 Hospital Road, Tuskegee, AL 36083) Work Hours: The contractor shall be available during normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday - Friday excluding Federal Holidays. Federal Holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King's Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and any other day specifically declared by the President of the United States to be a national holiday. 6.
