Work included in this contract generally includes the installation of a 3.0m multiuse asphalt pathway between McKenzie Avenue and the Dawnview Crescent cut though and between the existing pathway on McKenzie Avenue and the existing CARSA sidewalk. The project also includes widening of an existing sidewalk by 1.5m. The proposed pathways tie into existing pathways on both ends. The pathway/sidewalk installation includes stripping, general fill (as required), installation of proposed pavement structure, and placement of signing and pavement markings. Some minor utility improvements are also required including but not limited to installation of pedestrian lighting, extending irrigation lines, and installing sleeves for irrigation lines. Tree and shrub planting is also part of the contract. The work also includes the installation of bidirectional bike lanes on Gabriola Road between Ring Road and Lot 2 parking lot. Asphalt removal, curb and sidewalk installation at Ring Road with parking curbs being installed along the bike lanes on Gabriola Road. Minor drainage works, landscaping, and irrigation works are included at Gabriola Road and Ring Road.
