This project consists of: 33 TON of Superpave Bituminous Concrete Wearing Surface Layer (165 LB/SQ YD), 54 TON of Superpave Bituminous Concrete Upper Binder Layer (275 LB/SQ YD), 389 SQ YD Crushed Aggregate Base Course, 439 SQ YD Pavement Removal, 100 LIN FT Silt Fence Removal, 100 LIN FT Silt Fence, 2 Permanent Accessible Parking Signs, 198 SQ YD Brick Pavers, 88 SQ YD Concrete Sidewalk (6 Thick), 10 SQ YD Concrete Flume, 10 CU YD Crushed Aggregate, 13 Concrete Bumper Stops, 280 LIN FT Solid White, Class 2, Type A, Traffic Stripe (5" Wide), 5 SQ FT Solid Blue Handicap Markings, Class 2, Type A, 173 LIN FT Solid Blue, Class 2, Type A, Traffic Stripe (5" Wide), 21 CU YD Unclassified Excavation, 1 Telephone PED Relocation, 5 Vertical Headwalls, 28 LIN FT Curb Removal, Lump Sum Decorative Lighting, Lump Sum Landscaping, Lump Sum Traffic Control A total of Forty-Five (45) working days will be allowed for completion of work. All Bidders must file with their bids either a cashiers check drawn on an Alabama bank or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bonds in the State of Alabama and made payable to the City of Foley in the amount of five (5%) percent of the Contractors bid but in no event more than $10,000 and shall have a current State of Alabama General Contractors License. Furthermore, any Contractor that desires to bid as prime Contractor must have at least one of the following major classifications of license per Section 230-X-.27 of the State of Alabama Licensing Board for General Contractors Administrative Code: a) Highways and Streets b) Municipal and Utility c) Heavy and Rail Construction If awarded the bid and prior to beginning work, the Contractor is required to have a current City of Foley Business License, furnish a Certificate of General Liability Insurance and Workers Compensation Insurance, and proof of Automobile General Liability Insurance. The Insurance Certificate provided to the City shall list the City of Foley as an additional insured. A performance bond and Payment Bond must be executed upon award of the bid with a penalty equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the amount of the contract price. If the successful bidder's award amount is $100,000.00 or greater, a background check will be performed per City of Foley Ordinance No. 1029-08 and 23-2028-ORD, General Conditions, Section 1.14. The City of Foley reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technical errors if, in the Citys judgment, the best interests of the City will thereby be promoted.
