This work may also include the temporary cutting of the steel abutment tie-down bars and splicing of the bars after the structure is placed permanently on the proposed bearing pads. Newtown Township, Delaware County and Willistown Township, Chester County (collectively Townships) have joint ownership of the Bartram Covered Bridge (Bridge) located at 4298 Goshen Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073. This is a design/build contract and as such, the Townships' plans and specifications are conceptual and are intended to provide guidance to complete the proposed work. The bidder is required to carefully examine the proposal, plans, specifications, and project site before submitting a bid. The submission of a bid will be considered proof that the bidder has made such examination and understands the conditions. Questions Due Date: Dec 20th, 2023, 12:00 PM EST Subsurface material information may not necessarily be indicated on the drawings. The Contractor is required to examine and familiarize himself with the site and make such subsurface exploration as he deems necessary in connection with his bid. The Townships reserves the right to order at any time during the progress of the work, alterations in the construction drawings or specifications, including alterations in the grade or alignment of the road or structures. Any such order will be in writing by the Owners or their Representatives. Such alterations will not invalidate the contract, nor release the surety. The Municipalities shall accept or reject bids at a Regular or Special Meeting of the respective Board of Supervisors, duly advertised and open to the public.
