NEW OBP REMODEL GRANT WOOD AREA EDUCATION AGENCY CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA The bids are for a single Prime Contract (civil, general, mechanical and electrical combined). Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Work is anticipated to commence after award of contract around January 22, 2024 and be completed by July 15, 2024. Liquidated damages will apply to this project starting on July 16, 2024 as noted in Section 00 73 01 - Supplementary Conditions for AIA A201-2017. Pursuant to Iowa Code Section 26.8, bid security in the amount of five percent of the total bid in the form of a cashier's or certified check, share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond, is required for this project. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety performance and payment bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 30 calendar days after the date of the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. The award of the contract may be made by the Grant Wood Area Education Agency Board to any responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the Owner. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Owner. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa.
