Work of the contract is for constructing new sidewalks, removing existing damaged and non-compliant sidewalks and wheelchair ramps; and constructing new 5-feet wide, 4 1/2-thick concrete sidewalks, walkways, curbs, and wheelchair ramps.and constructing new 5-feet wide, 4%-inch thick concrete sidewalks, walkways, curbs, curb & gutters, and wheel chair ramps as directed by the engineer. In accordance to the Houston Public Works Infrastructure Design Manual and Guidelines for the Safe Sidewalk Program latest edition. The work to be performed shall consist of furnishing and installing all materials, equipment, excavation, backfill, grading, sodding or paving of disturbed areas, disposal of all debris and surplus excavation materials, and the demolition of existing facilities necessary to complete sidewalks, and wheel chair ramps as directed by the engineer. Protecting and relocating driveways, culverts, signs, mail boxes, shrubs, trees and bushes. Removing and replacing retaining walls and headwalls Relocating water meters outside of sidewalk. Protecting and relocating sprinkler heads and all accessories. Adjusting manhole frames and water valves to finished sidewalk grade Asphalt milling and replacement for ramps at existing curbs Installation of Asphalt transition and drains pipes. Remove and replace damaged yard drains. Other related work identified on the work order. Removing and replacing drainage culverts The Q/A feature is not enabled for this project. Substantial Completion within 365 days after Date of Commencement of the Work, subject to adjustments of Contract Time as provided in the Contract. the MBE goal is 12.94 percent, and the WBE goal is 8.72 percent.
