Construction work associated with the placement of a final cover on 5% top slopes and 4:1 side slopes at Stage 4 of the Trail Waste Facility. The project will involve the following key elements: 1. Installation of a cap and stormwater ditch based on the approved design used for capping Stage 2 and Stage 3, consisting of subgrade material, geomembrane, geotextiles, drainage layer, general cover material, top soil and seeding; 2. Tie new cover system into existing bottom liner system, including adjustments that may be required for the three leachate sump pads located on the northern edge of Stage 4. 3. Tie new cover system into existing cover system located at diversion berm on the western edge of completed Stage 3B; 4. Incorporate new liner system into existing landfill gas collection system infrastructure (wells, headers, etc); 5. Stormwater drainage to the existing adjacent systems will be required; and 6. Maintain stormwater and leachate management systems during construction. TIMELINE: Design updates will not be released. Construction in 2028.
