The work consists of rehabilitation of approximately 300,000 square feet of existing asphalt concrete pavement, including demolition and removal of existing asphalt pavement, grading, placement of new asphalt concrete pavement, new crushed aggregate base; re-compaction of existing crushed aggregate base, slurry seal, traffic striping, concrete drainage improvements and other appurtenant work as specified and shown on the drawings. Metropolitan requires small and/or disabled veteran business (SBE/DVBE) participation of at least 25 percent of the total bid. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond, in accordance with the contract documents. Project Duration 180 working days. Estimated Bid Value $1,600,000-$2,300,000 Bid Valid 90 days License Requirements A or C-12 The successful bidder and his or her agents, employees, and subcontractors shall comply with provisions of the California Labor Code, including those relating to payment of prevailing rates of wages. The bidder and his or her subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. Metropolitan will not accept any bid without proof of current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. Metropolitan has adopted a policy encouraging the participation of Small Business Enterprise and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SBE/DVBE) firms in its contracts. For this project, Metropolitan requires small and/or disabled veteran business participation of at least 25 percent of the total bid. Failure to meet this percentage will cause Metropolitan to reject the bid as non-responsive. SBE/DVBE participation will be determined by the total value of all contracts entered into with SBEs and DVBEs for this project.
