The work generally consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary for the construction of mostly 1.5" thick asphalt rubber hot mix (ARHM) over 2.5" thick conventional AC with a full width 4" thick grind at various locations within the City of San Gabriel. Valley Boulevard section will get a 2" thick ARHM overlay with a full width 2" thick grind. The work shall also include but not necessarily limited to following: edge grinding of existing AC pavement; adjust and install manhole frames and covers at finished grade; restoration of all existing traffic loop detectors, striping, pavement marking and raised markers; all necessary traffic control and public notifications to all adjacent properties to work areas; posting signs for "NO PARKING" and arranging for towing of cars, if necessary; and all other miscellaneous appurtenant work. The bid items, corresponding estimated quantities, and time allowed to complete the work are listed in the Bidder's Proposal and Statement. All required installation and construction shall be performed by the Contractor as specified in the Project Plans, Specifications, Special Provisions and Contract Documents, and/or as directed by the Engineer. Engineer's Estimate - $2.7 million. All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be in writing or email and received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, and shall be directed to: Public Works Project Manager, Alan Mai, at email: amai@sgch.org. The contract is to be executed within 7 calendar days after award of contract by City Council. Time for completion of the work is forty-five (45) working days for all work from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
