Demolition of existing water treatment plant components, system improvements for the water treatment plant, structural work, mechanical work, and electrical work Contract No. 1 - Delavan Water Treatment Plant Improvements Demolition of Existing Water Treatment Plant components: Demolition and removal of the existing filter, process piping, valves, and chemical feed systems. Demolition and removal of a portion of the existing water treatment plant (WTP) roof supports, sections of the roof, and ductwork. Water Treatment Plant: System improvements for the 230 gpm WTP match the existing processes. Installation of one (1) new 4 cell dual-media gravity filter with aeration. Installation of new filter face piping and process piping. Installation of one (1) new 65-gallon liquid chlorine storage tank and feed system. Installation of one (1) new 10-gallon fluoride bulk storage tank and feed system. Installation of one (1) new 10-gallon polyphosphate storage tank and feed system. Addition of one (1) 10-gallon sodium permanganate storage tank and feed system. Addition of one (1) 43 square foot fluoride chemical containment room, matching materials to the existing structure. Installation of one (1) finished water high service pump. Installation of two (2) isolation gate valves near the WTP. Structural Work: Selective demolition in the water treatment plant for removal and installation of packaged filtration unit; footings and stoop for new fluoride room, and fluoride room construction. Mechanical Work: Addition of one (1) Hi-E Dry style dehumidifier and one (1) exhaust fan to the fluoride chemical containment room. Electrical Work: Generally includes all electrical construction associated with the Water Treatment Plant. Work at the facility includes power supply; variable frequency drives; high and low voltage power and wiring; lighting; control wiring; control panel construction; and related Work. Bidder will not provide control system programming. Alternative No. 1 - Water Distribution System Improvements: Demolition of five (5) existing CFLOW fire hydrants. Installation of five (5) 250 psi fire hydrants and five (5) isolation gate valves. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond executed by the Bidder as principal and by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota, payable to the City of Delavan, in a sum equal to five (5) percent of the full amount of the Bid. This is to serve as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a Contract within 15 days of Notice of Award in accordance with the terms of the principal's Bond and a contractor's Bond as required by law and the regulations and determinations of the governing board for the performances of such Work. Only Bids that are accompanied by such a Bond will be considered. Bidder must be licensed for the full amount of the Bid. No Bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the above provisions as to bond and license. All Bids will be made on the basis of cash payment for such Work. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive any informalities in the Bids received, and further reserves the right to award the Contract in the best interest of the Owner Question Deadline 01/10/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to ENGINEER in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by ENGINEER in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by ENGINEER as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten (10) days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
