Replacement of PA headend system at Harter Middle School, exterior door replacement. Project location Meredith Road Middle School 1n137 Meredith Road Maple Park, Illinois 60151 John Stewart Elementary School 817 Prairie Valley Street Elburn, Illinois 60119 Kaneland High School 47 Keslinger Road Sugar Grove, Illinois 60151 Blackberry Elementary School 1122 Anderson Rd Elburn, Illinois 60119 Harter Middle School 1601 Esker Drive Sugar Grove, Illinois 60554 Mcdole Elementary School 2901 Foxmoor Dr. Montgomery, Illinois 60538 John Shields Elementary School 85 South Main Street Sugar Grove, Illinois 60554 The Project consists of the construction of Electrical and life safety upgrades, PA system head-end replacement, door and frame replacements. 1. Briefly and without force and effect upon the Contract Documents, the Work of this single prime Contract can be summarized as follows: Hollow metal doors and frames, aluminum storefront, PA head-end replacement, electrical upgrades, electrical Life Safety upgrades 2. Work under this Contract includes: a. Building Enclosure: 1) Storefront entrance systems and glazing. Galvanized hollow metal doors and frames. b. Electrical Systems: 1) Electrical service, switchgear, distribution panels, conduit and wiring. 2) Low voltage work to include: PA system replacement. 3) Fire alarm. F. Keep Architect fully informed about progress of the work, performance of the work and potential problems. 1.02 OWNER OCCUPANCY A. Owner intends to continue to occupy adjacent portions of the existing building during the entire construction period. B. Cooperate with Owner to minimize conflict and to facilitate Owner's operations. Performance and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract will be required. A Bid Security of 10% of the Bid is required with the proposal. The Contractor must pay the Prevailing Wage Rates for all work per Illinois Law. It is the policy of Kaneland Community Unit School District 302 to provide equal opportunity to all qualified businesses in the awarding of contracts and accordingly promotes the utilization of diversified businesses to the maximum extent feasible in any contract issued against this solicitation to bid. No bid shall be withdrawn, modified, or cancelled without the consent of the Owner for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening of Bids. The successful bidder is required to furnish insurance in form and amounts required by the Bidding documents, including guarantee of indemnity to the Owner and Architect against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of himself, his employees or agents, during the construction of said improvements and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive irregularities in the bidding procedure, or to accept the Bid that in its opinion will serve its best interest. Any such decision shall be considered final. Bidders are required to perform 10% of the work with Bidder's own forces, subject to the limitations established in the Bidding documents. The owner reserves the right to set aside a Bid from a Contractor who, in the Owner's opinion, does not exhibit past experience equal to the size and scope of this project. The Bidder shall have a written sexual harassment policy in place in full compliance with Section 2-105 of the Illinois Human Rights Act. **Document Notes: The following information must be provided to obtain the Bidding Documents: Company name, mailing address, street address, phone and facsimile numbers and type of bidder (i.e. General, Mechanical or Electrical Subcontractor to General, or other).
