Description: This project, located in Garrett County, is for the safety and resurfacing of MD 495 from Durst Road to US 40 Alternate for a total of 4.38 miles. MD 495 is an undivided two-lane open section roadway and is classified by Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) State Highway Administration (SHA), as a Rural Minor Arterial Road. The work will consist of the following: (a)Pavement Resurfacing (b)Replacing and upgrading damaged or non-standard W-beam traffic barrier systems and end treatments. (c)Drainage improvements consisting of replacement and lining of deteriorating RCP and CMP pipes, addition of end sections and end walls, and addition of outlet protection where high velocities and existing downstream erosion deemed it necessary. (d)New Pavement markings Note the road closure and detour plan is only for weekend work as needed to install the 10 pipes at below stationing: 1. Sta. 149+60 2. Sta. 169+42 3. Sta. 170+95 4. Minimum wage rates for each Project, if applicable, have been pre-determined by law and are set forth in the Invitation for Bids (IFB). Bids must only be made upon the latest electronic proposal forms (and attachments) that are furnished by the Administration. In accordance with State Finance and Procurement Title 13 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, no bid, performance or payment bonds are required for bids less than $100,000.00. However, bids $100,000.00 and above will not be considered unless a Bid Security is submitted as outlined in the Invitation for Bids. Bid Security shall equal at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. Also, the successful bidder will be required to supply Payment and Performance Bonds for all Contracts in excess of $100,000.00. The MDOT SHA reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
