The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to solicit bids from qualified bidders to remove the ferric sludge from two (2) lagoons at the Stafford County's Smith Lake Water Treatment Facility. The County intends to make a single award. A Contractor is needed to dewater the contents of two ferric sludge lagoons at Smith Lake Water Treatment Facility (Facility). The sludge lagoons are used to dispose of the ferric residuals from backwashing water treatment filters. Each lagoon has approximately 650,000 gallons of water treatment residuals including ferric sulfate and granular activated charcoal accumulated in the storage lagoon at the Facility. Based on the estimated volumes, each lagoon has approximately 700 dry tons of material that will need to be removed. The Contractor shall remove the dewatered sludge, hauled to the County's landfill, and properly dispose of the sludge and residual liquid accordingly. Work Location: Stafford County, Virginia Smith Lake Water Treatment Facility, 360 Doc Stone, Stafford, Virginia 22554
