In general, the project consists of flooring replacement for the District Attorney s Office located on the fourth floor of the Humboldt County Courthouse. The work includes removing and disposing of the existing flooring and installing new commercial flooring and painting in select areas as shown in the project drawings. All portions of Contractor s work shall be performed on weekends. available on November 28, 2023. Each Bid shall be accompanied by one of the following forms of Bidder s Security to with a certified check or a cashier s check payable to the County, U.S. Government Bonds, or a Bid Bond executed by an admitted insurer authorized to issue surety bonds in the State of California (in the form set forth in said Contract Documents). The Bidders security shall be in the amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a satisfactory faithful performance bond and a satisfactory payment bond in the forms set forth in said Bid Documents. The successful Bidder shall possess a valid Contractors license in good standing, with a classification of B (General Building Contractor) at the time the contract is awarded. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES As actual damages for any delay in completion are impossible to determine, the Contractor and their sureties shall be liable for and shall pay to the County of Humboldt the sum of $2,000.00 as fixed, agreed, and liquidated damages for each calendar day of delay beyond the overall contract completion date until the work is completed and accepted. The Contractor shall complete the entire project within 100 calendar days from the County s issuance of the Notice to Proceed County specifically reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all bids, or re-bid, or to waive minor irregularities from bid requirements. If no bids are received, the County reserves the right to identify interested contractor(s) and negotiate directly without re-bidding.
