The Rural Municipality of Connaught No. 457 is now accepting price proposals for roadside mowing operations for the 2024-2026 season. The tender is for a three (3) year contract expiring after the 2026 mowing season is completed with a contract renewal option for up to 2 additional years at the Municipality's discretion. Mowing operations include: 1. Mowing is to take place on all municipal roads which include grid roads, dirt roads, and some farm access roads that cover approximately 430 miles. 2. One (1) top cut completed between July 15-August 15. 3. One (1) full cut completed to be completed before October 31. 4. Mowing shall be done so that minimal debris is broadcast on the road surface. 5. Contractors are required to provide of valid Worker's Compensation Board coverage and a minimum liability insurance of $2,000,000.00. 6. Contractors are responsible for supplying the equipment, operators and fuel. 7. Contractors are required to clean off equipment before and after each cut and before and after leaving each respective RM. 8. Tenders must be submitted in a per hour rate. No contract will be awarded except to responsible bidders capable of performing the class of work as outlined. The Municipality reserves the right to award the contract to a bidder with not necessarily the lowest bid. The most qualified bidder will be awarded the contract, which means in the opinion of the Municipality, the contract as the equipment, expertise, and ability to supply or perform the services as tendered within the time requirements, and whose past performance or references are satisfactory to the Municipality. Council reserves the right to post pone the awarding of the contract pending verification of references and other pertinent information. The Municipality further reserves themselves the right to reject any or all tenders. Following are some reasons that a tender may be rejected: (a) Bid form supplied not used. (b) Bid form is not signed. (c) Bid form is without a price, equipment list or included unauthorized additions
