The Work to be performed under the Contract consists of two parts: Part 1 includes the rehabilitation of four street segments totaling 1,800+ linear feet (LF) through a combination of patching, mill-patching, milling, and the placing of asphalt surface courses and reconstruction of four street segments totaling 2,400+ LF by cement stabilization of the bases and subsequent placement of asphalt surface courses and re-construction of existing sidewalk ramps to meet ADA standards for a total of eight street segments. Part 2 includes the construction of two new street connectors totaling 275+ LF of asphalt and base course, construction of 295 LF of water main extensions, replacement of 45 LF of sewer force main, and replacement and reconstruction of an existing storm water culvert. Bid and Contract securities shall be provided in accordance with Articles 10 and 23 of the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes and under Municipal Code 11-9. The Town of Beaufort reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which appear to be in the Owner's best interest. Bids will be received on Single Prime contract basis. Bids shall be on a lump sum and/or unit price basis.
