The Work will occur at the Juneau Airport in Juneau, Alaska. The site is within the secure boundary of the airport. Close coordination with Owner is required throughout the Work. DESCRIPTION OF WORK. Work to be completed is defined by the Contract Documents and generally consists of the following: Removal of an existing 1,200 gal. buried storage tank and associated ballast pad, disposal of a small amount of petroleum contaminated soil, and provision of a 1,000 gal. above ground tank. Trades will include site work, concrete, mechanical, and underground tank removal and decommissioning, and other miscellaneous Work. DEADLINE FOR BIDDER QUESTIONS: 4:30 p.m. on November 9, 2023. Substantial Completion January 30, 2024 Final Completion February 29, 2024 DBE GOAL. The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal for this project is 7.4% BID SECURITY. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or Bid Bond, in the amount of 5% percent of the Bid, payable to the City and Borough of Juneau, Alaska, as a guarantee that the Bidder, if its Bid is accepted, will promptly execute the Agreement. A Bid shall not be considered unless one of the forms of Bidder's security is enclosed with it. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified, or cashier's check, or approved Bid Bond (00 4313) in an amount of at least 5 percent of the total bid price. The "total bid price" is the amount of the Base Bid, plus the amount of alternate bid items, if any, that total maximum amount for which the contract could be awarded. Said check or bond shall be made payable to the Owner and shall be given as a guarantee that the Bidder, if offered the Work, will enter into an Agreement with the Owner, and will furnish the necessary insurance certificates, Payment Bond, and Performance Bond; each of said bonds, if required, and insurance amounts shall be as stated in the Supplementary General Conditions. In case of refusal or failure to enter into said Agreement, the check or Bid Bond, as the case may be, may be forfeited to the Owner. If the Bidder elects to furnish a Bid Bond as its bid security, the Bidder shall use the Bid Bond form bound herein, or one conforming substantially to it in form. Bid Bonds must be accompanied by a legible Power of Attorney CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE. All contractors are required to have a current Alaska Contractor's License, prior to submitting a Bid, and a current Alaska Business License prior to award. Since this Project has federal funding, however, the Contractor and all Subcontractors will be required to have a current Alaska Contractor's License and a current Alaska Business License prior to Notice of Intent to Award. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any informality in a Bid, and to make award to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder as it may best serve the interests of the Owner.
