This project consists of the installation of a water main and sanitary line, erosion and sediment control, seeding, mulching, and other incidental items necessary to complete the project Bid Security equal to 5% of the total Bid is required in the form of a cash deposit or a Bid Bond Contract Security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required No Bid may be withdrawn after closing time for the receipt of Bids for a period of ninety (90) consecutive calendar days Where pavement is encountered, as shown on the Drawings, removal and replacement will be measured by the square yard regardless of the existing pavement material or depth. Payment includes all labor, tools, equipment, and material necessary to complete the work and shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, saw cutting the pavement, removal of existing pavement materials which are not suitable to backfilling the trench from the job, placement of suitable backfill material, and the cost for compaction and compaction testing by a certified and approved laboratory. In the case of pavement cut and removal, such price or prices shall include the cost of the required permit for cutting pavement. Extra width will not be measured for payment and there will be no extra payment for any of the above work, the cost of which shall be included in the unit price bid for pavement removal and replacement. Questions relating to the Contract and Contract Documents must be submitted in writing to the Engineer at michelle.mayes1@jacobs.com no later than Friday, December 22, 2023, at 5:00 pm For example, on a proposed contract, the WBE goal is 10%, and the MBE goal is 8%. A WBE bidder puts in a bid where they will perform 40% of the contract work and have a WBE subcontractor which will perform another 5% of the work. Together the two WBE firmssubmit on the Listing of MBE and WBE Subcontractors a value of 45% of the contract which fulfills the WBE goal. The 8% MBE goal shall be obtained through MBE participation with MBE certified subcontractors or documented through a good faith effort. It should be noted that you cannot combine the two goals to meet an overall value. The two goals shall remain separate.
