Volusia County is seeking proposals to design, repair, and replace existing exhibits at the Lyonia Environmental Center located at 2150 Eustace Ave, Deltona, FL 32725. Repair and replacement of existing exhibits at the Lyonia Environmental Center located at 2150 Eustace Ave., Deltona, FL 32725. Question Submission Deadline:December 28, 2023, 11:59 pm The project is funded in part by an ECHO grant with the remaining funded by ARPA funds. As this is a County grant, Davis-Bacon Act does not apply. The total project budget is $200,000.00 (two hundred thousand dollars). The Respondent shall submit a budget breakdown per exhibit/task not exceeding $200,000.00. All construction must be completed by December 31, 2024. Construction project management, demolition and interior finishes construction, minor electrical work as may be required for exhibits, design, fabrication and installation of new proposed education exhibits meeting the intent of the Scope of Work from County provided sketches. New reception desk with subterranean view of gopher tortoise and burrow per County provided photo. Relocation of two educational exhibits to corridor. Demolition of three existing exhibits and installation of new exhibits and interior finishes to match existing in its place. Re-pipe & recalibrate compressed air system to two existing exhibits or development of a new system. Repair or redesign of one existing exhibit to remove opportunity for algae growth and adjust timing of light functions. Note: This is an educational exhibit project requiring museum/educational exhibit designer(s)/ fabricator(s). A licensed architect or engineer is not required. If required by authority having jurisdiction, sealed design criteria plans will be provided by the Countys Senior Architect. The Deltona Regional Library, Lyonia Environmental Center, and Deltona Amphitheater were built using green building standards and practices. The building expansion, completed in October 2009, received LEED (Leadership in Energy Efficiency and Design, internationally recognized) Silver Certification, verifying that the expansion is environmentally responsible and a healthy place to work. Green certified buildings pay special attention to saving energy and water, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, improving indoor environmental quality, and responsible stewardship of resources.
