This project consists of the demolition and new construction of interior elements to improve and update existing restrooms to improve functionality. The work consists of the demolition of interior constructions including, finish flooring, interior walls including metal framing and drywall partitions, brick and CMU partitions, interior doors, plumbing fixtures, and toilet accessories. The new construction includes new metal stud framing and gyp board partitions, infill of masonry partitions, new ceramic tile flooring and wainscotting, interior hollow metal door frames, solid core wood doors, and door hardware, as well as new accessible plumbing fixtures and accessories. Bid Security in amount and form specified in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS will be required to be submitted with each bid. Bids may not be withdrawn until 30 days after the bid date and time. Successful bidders shall be required to observe 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et. Seq., pertaining to wages and known as the "Prevailing Wage Act" as issued by Illinois Department of Labor. Successful bidders shall also observe 30 ILCS 560 /0.01 et. Seq., pertaining to hiring Illinois labor and known as the "Public Work Preference Act". Furthermore, successful bidders shall observe the "Illinois Human Rights Act, as Amended", 775 ILCS 5 /1-101et. Seq., and the Rules and Regulations, Title 44, Section 750 of the Illinois Administrative Code, Illinois Department of Human Rights. Successful bidders and their subcontractors shall be required to enter a project labor agreement with the Egyptian Building &Construction Trades Council. The successful bidders and subcontractors shall comply with the Illinois Procurement Code, 30 ILCS 500/30-22, to determine their need for Apprenticeship and Training Program requirement as defined in Project Manual. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informality in bidding and to accept bids deemed most favorable to the Owner.
