THIS PRESOLICITATION NOTICE IS ISSUED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR FALL VIEWING, OF THE PROJECT SITE, PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF THE SOLICITATION. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL/QUOTE OR BID. The Forest Service anticipates issuing a full solicitation at a time when the project site will likely be covered in snow or access is unavailable due to winter closures. Interested vendors are encouraged to visit the site prior to closure for a full understanding and, if desired, take photos or videos. See attached documents for specific Information. The Salmon-Challis National Forest may issue Solicitation No. 1282B124R0004 for gravel surfacing approximately 5 to 7 miles of NFSR 40008 (Beaver Creek Rd/Seafoam Rd) on the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The current volume estimate for gravel surfacing is at around 10,000 to 15,000 CY, depending on funding. Gravel may be commercial sourced or crushed from Blind Summit with 1 to 3 percent bentonite to achieve desired properties. This is not a solicitation and in no way commits the Government to award a contract. The Government does not intend to award a contract(s) based solely on this notice or site visit nor does it intend to pay for any costs incurred in response to this announcement. The intent of this notice is to ensure that prospective bidders may see the areas prior to snowfall obscuring the ground or preventing access prior to issuing the solicitation. This solicitation could be issued as early as Spring of 2024 but there is not guarantee that a solicitation will be issued.The work anticipated under any contract resulting from the solicitation will be started around August 1, 2024. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE Approximately Aug 1, 2024 to September 1, 2024.
