Blakely Borough Depot Street- LHVA Safety Crossing Improvement Project: Base Bid; The proposed project will consist of the relocating a portion of the existing rail trail to align with a decorative crosswalk to be installed at the intersection of Bridge Street, Depot Street, and River Road. A rectangular rapid flashing beacon will also be installed at this crosswalk. New curbing and sidewalks will be installed along the south east corner of this intersection. This project/contract is funded by PennDOT ARLE Grant Agreement No C920001396. This project was financed in part by a grant from The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; ARLE Grant Program. Bidders must be PennDOT Prequalified as specified in section 102.01, of Publication 408. Contractors qualifying as subcontractors may submit bids as a prime contractor, consistent with their qualifications and as specified in section 108.01, Publication 408. A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The bid must be accompanied by a certified/cashier's check or Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount, made payable to Blakely Borough. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof or to waive any informalities in the bidding. If written notice of the acceptance of this Bid is mailed or delivered to the undersigned within sixty (60) days after the opening thereof, or at any time thereafter before the Bid is withdrawn, the undersigned agrees to execute and deliver the Agreement in the form prescribed by the Blakely Borough. The Bidder, in accordance with the President's Executive Order 11246, will be required to ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against on the basis of their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin in employment or the provision of services. Bidders are advised that PA Prevailing Minimum Wage Rates must be paid to workers employed on this project and are incorporated in the Contract Documents. These wage rate requirements are applicable to this contract for the entire duration of this project. Bids will be considered for award at the next Council meeting.
