The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is requesting qualifications from interested Architect/Engineer ("A/E") teams to assist in the design and construction for Brain and Spine Hospital (BSH) roof replacement. This project involves designing the replacement of the existing roof structure of this hospital. The Brain and Spine Hospital was constructed more than 35 years ago. The structure of the building consists of cast-in-place reinforced concrete frame except for the penthouse which is constructed of a structural steel frame. BSH has appropriately 28,000 square feet of roof split between two levels consisting of a low-sloped ballasted single-ply roof membrane system and a high-sloped standing seam sheet metal roof system. This project will also require the removal of existing abandoned steel located on the roof. In addition to the required deliverables at each phase of the project, the selected team is to complete a Site Assessment of the existing roof condition and provide an analysis of structural integrity and any potential environmental considerations.
