The work consists of the following: Installation Of A 6' x 6' x 37 Long Concrete Box Culvert and Restoration Of Terrys Creek At Indian Island County Park. Work Shall Be Done From The Land And In Water Utilizing Barges And Excavators To Create A Tidal Channel Two Feet Below Mean Low Water, And Material Will Be Dredged Below Spring High Water At The Mouth Of The Proposed Channel. The Tidal Channel Will Be Planted With Native Wetlands Species Including Spartina Alterniflora In The Low March Intertidal Areas And Spartina Patens At Higher Elevations In The Floodplain/Marsh Area. Bids for this contract shall be submitted in a separate sealed envelope with the name of the contract clearly noted on the outside of the envelope. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total Base Bid, made payable to the Suffolk County Comptroller. This bid bond will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted and contract awarded to the Bidder, the contract will be duly executed and properly secured. Awards will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder in conjunction with SectionA4-14 of the Suffolk County Administrative Code establishing an optional ten percent (10%) local (Nassau/Suffblk) preference program for Suffolk County contracts. The bids shall be delivered in person, by the Bidder or his agent, at the time and place stated above. The Comity of Suffolk, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 US.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The Commissioner of Public Works reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
