Lake County Government invites competitive proposals from qualified professional firms to provide a feasibility study for a new community center in Lake County that would include Lake County Public Library, Lake County PROS (Parks, Recreation and Open Space), Lake County Senior Center, and a childcare facility. The current facilities for these departments are aging and no longer meet our space requirements. Additionally, we are looking for a centralized, multiuse space to meet the needs of our growing community. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Scope of work The scope of work is expected to include but is not limited to the following: Acquire public input through community outreach on: Services Programs Building attributes Evaluate the feasibility of a building that includes the following: Public Library Stacks Programming space Meeting rooms Study Rooms Colorado Mountain History Collection Recreation Center Gym Space for indoor sports Indoor swimming pool Senior Center Cafe/kitchen space Evaluate locations for the facility including: Current Library location Community Park Huck Finn Ice Rink and Field Complex One additional alternate location in Lake County Childcare space that would meet the requirements of state licensing. Determine options for vacated land Funding options for capital campaign: loans, grants, ballot measures. Determine estimated scope, size, and cost of facility (including operations). Determine an estimated timeline for the completion of a Community Center. We are particularly interested in sustainable building options.
